Details: A Conservationist’s delight: bushland on 40 acres of private land, Red Hill/Shoreham, will be open to the public for guided tours on the 23 March. This tract of bush has required woody weed removal over 4 years but is otherwise pristine forest which is part of a larger 100 acre forest providing significant flora and fauna diversity.
The Powerful Owl and Masked Owl, who are our champion raptors in the campaign against the use of second Generation Rodenticides(SGARs) on the Mornington Peninsula, are residents in this incredible bush tract along with many other significant species. For geologists there is a Bluestone intrusion one of the rare accessible bluestone sites on the Peninsula.
In short, this is an ‘awesome’ opportunity to experience the best forest the Mornington Peninsula offers.
